About Nuwan
Nuwan provides global leadership to the traditional asset management segment within the Investment Research Buy-side business unit. As a senior leader in Acuity Knowledge Partners’ (Acuity’s) Sri Lanka delivery centre, he provides oversight to the Buy-side research teams, including resource management.
Nuwan also spearheads the Colombo University Outreach programme, bringing Acuity’s global expertise to Sri Lanka’s brightest minds.
His journey started over 20 years ago as Sell-side Equity Analyst covering the mortgage-backed securities sector. After seven years in the domain, he moved to fixed income research to expand Acuity’s credit research franchise in the Sri Lanka delivery centre. Subsequently, he was appointed Head of fixed income, focused on credit capacity creation for growth. Nuwan also had the opportunity to manage a large lending engagement for seven months from Bangalore. He was then appointed to lead the Investment Research vertical’s initiatives, targeting the traditional asset management segment.
Nuwan is actively involved in promoting the CFA qualification and creating awareness about capital market career opportunities in Sri Lanka. He regularly visits universities and speaks to undergraduate students.
In his personal time, he likes playing cricket, having represented Acuity in hardball cricket in multiple mercantile tournaments. Nuwan also enjoys running and watching his daughter play hockey for her school.
Nuwan is a CFA charter holder and a CIMA passed finalist.
He is a board member and chair of the University Outreach Committee of the CFA Society Sri Lanka.
