CLIENT CHALLENGES
- The client is one of India’s leading airport operators; they found it challenging to select the right ESG rating provider to assess their ESG performance effectively.
- The client wanted to improve their performance by identifying and implementing effective ESG practices that would enhance their operational efficiency, reduce their environmental impact, improve travellers’ experiences and enhance their reputation.
OUR APPROACH
- ESG assessment
The project team undertook an in-depth evaluation of ESG rating providers, assessing their methodologies and criteria in terms of providing optimal support to our client. The team then applied the methodologies to assess our client’s current ESG performance. This process led to identifying areas of strength and areas for improvement. - Roadmap development
The team developed a comprehensive roadmap outlining improvements aligned to the ESG rating provider’s criteria. We developed strategies to further improve the rating while addressing operational improvements; this resulted in fewer emissions and an improved carbon performance. - Capacity building
We collaborated with the client team to enhance the entity’s ESG capacity, capability and knowledge capital to better equip them to identify, assess and manage ESG-related risks and work on the areas identified for improvement, enabling the client to independently pursue proactive ESG strategies. - Transparent communication
The team also developed a communication strategy for transparently conveying and reporting ESG initiatives to maximise exposure of the client’s ESG practices to a wide range of stakeholder groups.
