CLIENT CHALLENGES
- The client is a growing UK-based consulting firm providing advisory on sustainability/ESG.
- Acuity Knowledge Partners’ Project team helped the client’s M&A and Strategy teams in conducting pre-deal activities, including target screening, due diligence and business analysis, through multi-layered support.
OUR APPROACH
- Target screening
- The Project team began by identifying suitable acquisition candidates based on specific criteria such as industry, geography and financials. A list of potentially relevant entities was drawn up and review undertaken together with the client’s team.
- Preliminary evaluation
- Next, the Project team evaluated the target company’s offerings, geographical presence and several parameters such as company size, sector, type of projects executed and employee-centric aspects (including their qualification and work experience).
- Business analysis
- Subsequently, the Project team analysed the target entity’s financial performance, competitive positioning, synergies and other aspects for the acquisition/merger. Once the analysis was complete, the team held discussions with the client and presented its key findings.
- Due diligence
- Finally, the Project team gathered all the analytical insights for a detailed study of the target entity and its potential after a merger or an acquisition. Multiple KPIs, including ROI, DCF and market valuation, were considered. The entity’s legal and shareholding structures were also studied and projected cash flows, sales pipeline and forecast income and expenses reviewed
